Summah time and the posts come slowly :) However, if you'd like frequently updated bloggage, go and check out Mrs. Twink!e's blog. She's in England now and promises to "take us along with her" :)
Play Day is always a highlight for the students (and teachers!). Play Day was postponed this year and dawned a cloudy, cool day. But things brightened up in the afternoon and we had a wonderful day!
Ah, marble pool! There's nothing quite like picking up marbles with your toes on a hot, hot day! Of course, it does lose some of its attraction on cold days and when the water turns brown with grime...
See, this is why I love play day! Team camaraderie!
Quite possibly the fav event of all students. I know they request high jump often during P.E. class. Nice form eh?
Even Marvin got to enjoy the day!
Watching the Grade 8 / Teachers baseball game. It was fun even though the teachers lost a teammate to injury. {we won of course :) }
Probably not as much of a favourite event, but I like it because they have to work together on this one!
Setting up the frisbee bowling pins
Squeezing in through the spider web. Teamwork extraordinaire!
Chillin' out!
our guest of honour with her grandson :)
The wheel!
The highlight of the day!
I know I always yell myself hoarse cheering on as many of the runners as I can while they race by. It's definitely the best part of the day.
And ok, I totally choked up to see my last niece at CCS race by. Who will give me back rubs now??
This was a new one for me. It can be very intimidating for Grade Ones to take the baton for your team, race around this enormous circle, find your line back again and return the baton to the front of your line. Especially when we didn't practise it.
It's why my class has "the big kids" help run around with them. We needed to go a step further this year :) We're very thankful for the "big kids"!
Eating our freezie while awaiting the final results. It was a wonderful day!
