Class Trip 2008

So for the longest time, as you may have noticed, I've avoided this blog like the plague. That comes from having to choose each picture, shrink each picture, edit some pictures and then upload pictures 5 at a time.

It's labourious to say the least.

However! I've found a way I can send a bunch of pictures to a post! It only requires a bit of cutting and pasting on my part. YAY!!

So, off we go! This was our trip to the Lion Safari. The only fly in the ointment was our weather which wasn't as warm as we had wished. We were thankful that the rain stayed away. It's a perfect class to take to the safari as most of them are animal crazy.

Our group started on the boat

See? Cold!

Playing in the play structure.

These balls were a fav

Eating lunch while we wait for our air conditioned bus to take us through the safari. Air conditioned is the way to go on a vehicle full of excited children when you can't open the windows!

Yep, this is what we were waiting to see and we weren't disappointed. There were lions out everywhere probably due to the cool weather.

Look at those lazy creatures. Did you know a male lion will starve before it will hunt for himself? Yeppers, the things we learned on the tour...

Oh wait, maybe these were the favourites. There's nothing like monkeys around to make kids act like them :)

When the safari was over we went to check out the birds of prey show.

Catching a falcon:

The elephant show!!

I had to get a picture of this elephant. She was named Lilly you see...

Yes, that is a rat on the elephant's head.

Those goats had a nasty habit of trying to eat our clothes

And the water park. The park they clamoured to visit virtually all day long. The water park on a day which maybe hit 20 degrees. The water park with the unheated water...

Yup. The cold water indeed.

They didn't last too long in the water!

Finishing up the day on a train ride.

Great pictures!!

Mind sharing your newly discovered uploading trick?

Hi Amy! Perhaps I should answer on your blog eh? :)
My handy-dandy WONDERFUL new trick is to email them to my blog. I use Picasa to edit my pics and it automatically shrinks the pics when I email them.
You have to go to settings on your blogger dashboard and then click on email. Go to the mail-to-blogger and type something in the box to make your email address et voila you're set.
I changed my settings to save the emails as draft posts to make them easier to work with.
It's so great to be able to download pictures this way. The only drawback would be for anyone clicking on the pictures to save/print them. They're not terribly large.

Whew! Me thinks you needed the summer holidays to create a post with THAT many photos! With such a lovely bit of detail, I feel as if I personally went to the Lion Safari with you and the gang...er -- LOL, THAT would be the point I guess eh?
Thanks Miss J, it was totally worth the wait.

Well Miss J, you outdid yourself once again. The pictures were great! My favourite, is the one of the giraffes (besides all the pics with the twins on them of course
..tch..tch). It's an amazing shot!
Brave little souls going in the water that day..and did Miss J join them?
Have a great summer!

That was a lot of pictures wasn't it?! Sorry dial-uppers! But I'm oh so much less picky about sorting through pictures when I can download a whole whack of them at the same time.

NO. I did NOT go into that water. Isn't the expression "the foolishness of youth..."? It was cold!!
