STAR of the WEEK! March 19 - 23

It's so hard to wait.
Wait until the whole rest of the class has been the star.
Then wait because your week would have been a four day week.
Then wait some more because the next week was the March Break. Ah, but at last it's here!
Here she is showing us some really cute pictures like ....

....this!
Awwww!
Take away the drool, add some hair and clothes, (oh and teeth!) and doesn't she look the same?!?

Reading book number one to the class. We liked it because we got to say a line. Repeatedly. Click on the pic and I'm sure you can read it too.

Now this was fun! We were all heartily impressed by our very own violin virtuoso. We got our own performance (yep, click on that!) and should we ever lose that link or forget what it sounded like, we're also really good at finding our Star's part on the Messiah CD.

Chillaxin' with the girls and a wee little Robert Munsch book. Don't they look comfy?

Dastardly Miss J gave a test during her Star week! (note the bottle of Purell on the corner of her desk? I'm working hard at eliminating passage of germs around the classroom.)

Lunch hour devotions.

Reading book number two. This was funny. Each page she turned to was "the funniest page!" We concur. 'Twas funny indeed!

Ahhh. And here it is. Our last Star enjoying her last day with the last poster of the year. Well, almost.

Star of the Week!!! Feb. 26 - March 2

Here's our Star in September posing for his Star of the Week picture, as yet totally unaware of what Star of the Week really entails. Now he knows!

What a supercalifragilisticexpialidociously terrific grin on this here fella. Think he's happy he's finally the Star? Think his teacher feels a wee bit guilty she hasn't put up his post yet? I do.

Here's Prof. Star instructing his oh so eager class on the ins and outs of Star curriculum. They passed a rigorous test at the end of the day, fully recounting every detail of our Star's complete life and interests in our agenda.
Proof here: Our Star, of course, passed the exam without having to write it. His teacher does that for him (I get tested too ya know).

Everyone's favourite time: Reading corner here we come!

We all enjoyed the book, maybe none more so than our Star, who laughed the entire way through the story.
Yep, he's the Star. Yep, he gets to write on the board. Yep, just about anytime he wants to. Yep, the other kids get jealous. And you betcha, he loved every minute of it.

Leader of the pack :)

Friday. Sigh. Last day to be the Star. On the other hand, it is the day you've been waiting for, listening to what everyone has said about you.

Star o' the Week!! February 19 - 23

Bad Miss J. Not only do you make some of the kiddies wait til February to be Star of the Week, you also make them wait for their blog post to come up!
But isn't this a cute picture?

So here we go, Monday and the whole class gathers in eager expectation around our new Star and his new cool poster

Funny how they all seem to find room for just one more star...and another...and another...

Here we are finding the two words contained in compound words. Seems our Star was a little camera shy as I raced for my ever present camera he quickly finished and left. Well then I had to direct him back to the board (after I erased the work he had just done and made him do it over again) Anything for a picture!

Yep. It is Choir class. How'd you know?? :)

Working hard on making our colour wheel in Art class.

And our crossword puzzle in Bible class

Reading our lastest story with a partner. (and look, they're using their fingers to follow along! I love it when they do what I ask them to do! Ok, so it looks like they're not at the same spot, can't win 'em all)

Friday's poster pose. They have it down pat. And now that they can read, they're not even waiting for me to read all the comments anymore!
