The end of a practicum is always a bittersweet time for a student teacher. It isn’t easy to leave a class after spending 3 weeks learning, getting to know, and enjoying all the wonderful characters that fill the classroom you are a part of. Words really can’t do justice to how fantastic each student is in Miss J’s grade 1 & 2 class and I want to thank each of them for the wonderful cards and gifts that I received on my last day. I am so thankful for the opportunity that I was afforded and thankful to Miss J. for all that I learned and also for opening up her classroom to me for 3 weeks. It is also worthwhile to mention how much I appreciated the kind words and gestures from the parents of the students. Taking time to welcome me in various ways gave me a wonderful start to a great time at CCS.
As I arrived at the college today I thought to myself, wow, if I was at CCS, the students would be starting Language Arts right now! It will take time to adjust again to college life and I no doubt will miss the children. I look forward to seeing how their year progresses by visiting the class blog regularly. One of the main lessons I learned during my stay was “less is more” and so I will leave my entry with that. Thank you all again for a wonderful experience and God bless you all as the year continues!
