Here we are getting ready for the opening assembly...
...we had a bit of a traffic jam before we could finally enter the room.
What can I say? It was a long assembly :)
An exciting part!
And the highlight of our opening assembly is meeting our new classmates! This year we also got to meet a new Grade Two classmate!
And here's the annual introduction of Grade One to the rest of the school.
Every year when I ask the students what their favourite subject is, some one will say it's "recess". And here they are enjoying recess and the beautiful September weather.
We're a country school aren't we? They can hide so deep in all those plants that they can't hear the recess bell and don't notice that the rest of the school has run inside. (Yep, 10 minutes late were one duo earlier this week! No, not this fella here)
This was supposed to be lining up for a fire drill. Instead the kids saw some wildlife which had safely tucked itself away from those reaching hands. See it?
I certainly do have a class of boys. They're entranced by all living, hopping, breathing, running and flying things.
Grade One hard at work. They're matching up lower case letters with upper case letters. I don't suppose you remember how hard it was telling the "d" apart from the "b" and the "p" (and "q" !) Aren't they working with great concentration?
