Pentecost program...and some

After many weeks of practicing, we gathered for our final run through at the church in preparation for the Pentecost program.
But it was early in the morning! We had to get our bodies all loosened up for optimal singing with a bunch of stretches.

Including the famous "choir hug" :)

All warmed up and ready to go!

I love this shot

Concert night! Wow, the kids were great that night weren't they?! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

The accidental hairdo was also a highlight for we teachers in the front row. Looked good! :)

Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning....

Back in the classroom. It's impossible to compete with a thunderstorm and I never try. We chill out for a bit, sit on the window ledge and see if we can count between the flash of lightning and the boom to judge how far away it was.

Ah! engrossed! I enjoyed very much reading Little House in the Big Woods to the kids and am enjoying Farmer Boy just as much. I'm also enjoying the fact that I get to "force" them to listen to one of my most favourite authors. It gives me great joy to see them pull out those books in the reading corner.

Here they're watching Little House on the Prairie (NOT the tv show, she hastens to add!)

While reading the book we learned how Ma made butter and just had to try it ourselves:

Some cream
a water bottle shaken vigorously by the entire class

and floating inside you'll see a lump...
of butter!

btw...see what a Laura geek I am? I've visited two Laura homesites :)
