Ah, the day dawned bright and cheerful and in the staffroom, bleary eyed teachers fretted about the start of school and shared that they hadn't slept the night before. It looks like the kids were all ready to go though!
No one's camera shy like an adult is :)
Every year all the new peeps in school get introduced. Every year they seem to end up in my class! Here are the Grade One class being introduced to their new school.
They look a little shy eh? Trust me, after a month of getting to know them, they're not all that shy!
A belated thanks to our choir teacher:
And ogling what she unwrapped.
Back in the classroom the students have quickly found the new items. Play dough was immediately hauled out and twisted into all sorts of shapes, animals and items.
And once it was discovered that the camera was around, all sorts of posing with their new little creations ensued.
We're also working on cleaning up the toy shelf in the reading corner. I have an abundance of puzzles, but they hadn't all been put away carefully. We saw pieces of puzzles lying around and we decided that we'd put them together and if they had all the pieces we'd keep them and if not, into the garbage they went.
It's too bad because I had some nice Bible puzzles and those are really hard to replace!
A very nice thing about a double grade: watching them working together and helping each other out.
Yes, more pics are coming soon :)
