Life in Grade One and Two...

It's January! We're all chipper and happy to be back at school and we're even happier to be able see each other again. I understand the flu has hit more than one house, but even after all that, we're quite refreshed and ready to start our work again!

It wasn't always that way...

This is what Grade Two was busy with when Grade One was at home on their Mental Health day. Grade Two had somewhat of a mental health day themselves, helping make it snow in the classroom...(they're so good at helping and organizing!)

...and then we were busily working on making "stained glass windows".

See?

Grade One came back to school and thought our class blizzard and windows were rather cool, so they wanted to try too.
It can be rather tricky, but we had our helpers in Grade Two to assist when necessary.

"Look, if you put this colour on the back and flip it over it looks like this..."

Ha! I wish I remember what song was playing, but this is enthusiastic singing you're seeing.

Have I mentioned yet that I love snow? :)
Grade Two asked almost immediately if we could go out and play some trail tag, and who was I to say no?
So here we are, making trails for us to play tag on. Woe befalls the student who dares to leave the path! But wow, this was a LOT of snow. The kids, of course, were running on top, but I was trail blazing and slogging through drifts that went past my knees.
Hands on your head when you're caught and on your way to jail.

Gotcha!

They're coming, they're coming, they're coming!!

I don't know why, but this happens almost every year: collections of pencil/pencil crayon tips. I think the kids were calling it money. It's not a wonder that their pencil crayons are rather short eh?

One word:
Choir.
Ah, but I know what they were singing here: Hallelujah!
Quietly working away in math class.

I can tell them apart :)
Even when he's not wearing red!

What a ham. He turned, saw me with the camera and turned on the pose.

Here we are busily making patterns..looks like it's an AAB pattern here.

I think this was a rainy day recess and they're watching the star's movie.
More hams :)

Good job on telling my two apart. I love the pics too because I don't take many myself, so now I have at least some. However, being a dialupper, it only took 2 hours or so to see them all.
