If it was only for one day, it was still fun

Saturday was a beauteously cold day.  I know, I know, some of you wimpy people out there :) think it was too cold.  It was marvelous.

The rink was looking bumpy and there's one corner that still isn't covered so I had the hose out.

And then I went back at night to try and remove some of those bumps.  (And got totally freaked out by a cop who came around the back to investigate the lights, but that's another story)

And yay!  We got some use out of it on Monday.  

Not all the bumps are gone, but it was a lot better.

Who needs a rink, they'll skate anywhere.

Finally.  Cold weather! :)  It made for some happy kiddies today on our beauteous rink.  Thanks to those dads who assembled it many moons ago.  It was fun to see it finally being used!

Well this wasn't a pleasant welcome back surprise...

Poor thing.

Judging by the bird poo flung about the classroom, this fellow was quite desperate to leave.

Unfortunately he was unsuccessful.

Not the nicest thing to see coming back after a holiday!

A nearly full moon. And!

I came home about a half hour ago and looked up at the moon.  Ever since we started studying the Solar System in class I look at the moon to see what phase it's in.

And lo, look at that "star" beside the moon.  It's Jupiter!

Check it out in the next couple of days, apparently it's brighter than usual.
